Ukri-Sbe Lead Agency Agreement
The lead agency will use its usual internal procedures to determine whether a proposal is awarded or rejected. Funding decisions may be subject to budgetary restrictions. Each proposal must include at least one staff member eligible for the United States as a leader and at least one eligible executive staff member in the United Kingdom. NIH is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is the country`s medical research agency. As part of the SBE-UKRI Lead Agency Opportunity, joint research proposals can be adopted in areas at the interface between the NSF/SBE and UKRI missions. The UK research councils involved in this activity are the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). Applicants should review the programmes supported by the NSF/SBE and the relevant UK Research Council in order to obtain more information on areas of research that may be supported in these activities. Proposals should reflect the typical size and duration of proposals for uk Research Council (s) and SBE seeking funding.
